BikeRadar this year was held at Brands Hatch and having missed out on the event last year i had been looking forward to it for a while. The sun was stayed out for the entire event and the crowds were flooding through the gates non stop all weekend. The whole weekend was a real good event. I spent most of saturday chilling out around the trade stands and watching the pro’s rip it up on the dual track. A lot of effort had gone in to building all the tracks by Will Longden and it looked like his hard work paid off as all the riders were giving the tracks good reports.
I was entered in the dual slalom on the sunday to race in the open dual race which was mega good fun. There were only 3 girls entered so we all made the decision to compete in the junior mens catergory. I’d never ridden against the guy before so didnt really know where i would stand in my chances of making it through each round. Most heats i raced in were pretty even which made good racing, until i got to the 1/2 final where i faced Issac Mundy who is a real talented young rider. Issac won both runs hands down, knocking me out and in to the small final against Jordon Lunn.
The small final made to be a good race, i think it was pretty close racing. Jordon and Me were neck and neck for most of the track but Jordon managed to creep ahead of me on both runs taking the win, leaving me 4th overall and taking the win in the womens catergory. I had a real good weekend and im already looking forward to next years event.
