Whether its your first time on a mountain bike or you’re an elite level racer just looking for that extra 0.10th second, I am now offering skills coaching that caters for all. Want to boost your confidence, improve your skills or even just learn the basics, tailor made coaching session can be put together to cater for your needs.
Beginners Skills Course:
3 Hour Course
This course is aimed at riders new to the sport that are looking to learn some of the basic skills needed to enjoy riding safely. The course will be designed around you to ensure your progress confidently to the next level.
Basics covered on the course:
• Bike set up – pre-ride bike check
• Balance
• Body position
• Gear selection
• Controlled Braking
• Cornering
• Climbing
• Descending
This course is £60 for the 3 hour session and will be based at Ashton Court, Bristol.

Intermediate Skills Course:
3 Hour Course
This course is aimed at the regular rider looking to get the most out of their riding. The course will help you gain the confidence and the skills to help you ride through some of the roughest terrain.

Advanced Skills Course
4 Hour Course
This course is aimed at the more technical and more advanced rider looking to refine their riding and gain those top tips to help them shave seconds off their times. The course will help even the most advanced rider to push their level of riding and gain even more confidence when riding technical terrain at speed.

• Large Drops
• Off Camber Terrain

• Advanced Braking Techniques
This course is £75 for the 4 hour session and will be based in the Forest of Dean.

One hour skills course, £30 per person.

Women Only Courses:
3 Hour Course
It no secret that mountain biking is a male dominated sport but don’t let that put you off ladies. This course will give you the chance to ride with other female riders as well as learning new skills and techniques to help you become a more skilled and confident rider. Women of all riding abilities welcome.
The course will be designed around the level of skill of the riders in the group.
This course is £60 per person for a 3 hour course.
Course can be held at various venues depending on the session and skills.

Courses are based in the South West (Bath/Bristol) area but can be run at various locations. Charges may vary slightly depending on the venue.
Courses can be run on weekdays or weekends on dates and time to suit you.
Each course will have a maximum of up to 6 riders. (Any larger groups wanting coaching please get in touch – prices will vary as a second coach will have to be brought along)
Recommended Equipment and Kit
Before attending the course please ensure your bikes are in a safe working order. A bike check can be done at the start of the session if needed and will be done at the start of every beginners course. Every rider attending any course MUST wear a helmet, no helmet no ride. Other safety equipment such as gloves, elbow pads, knee/shin pads is not compulsory but is strongly recommended.
Please bring the appropriate clothing for a rainy day – thermals, waterproofs etc. The courses are long sessions and having the right clothing will make the day even more enjoyable. Also Hydration is key, please bring plenty of food/energy bars and water/energy drinks as the course will last a few hours.

I’ve been mountain biking now for 42 years and feel it’s no longer challenging enough to leap off 100 foot quarry edges. I need more. Can you help? I’m particularly interested in bunny hops and want to get rid of the stabilisers.
